meet robin
founder of soyala & relationship oracle at soyala together
a little bit about me & relationships
it took me years (and years and years) to crack the code on how to have a long term relationship that works – and sustains. along the way i was on a path devoted to spiritual awakening - and it was working. yet, my achilles heel, the place i fell to pieces, the place i felt tossed around, lost, and truly so fucked up - was in long term relationship.
and believe me, i tried! i was a serial monogamist starting when i was about fifteen years old and rarely was i single for long. looking back, my relationships were often transactional at best, and at worst they included verbal and sexual abuse, betrayal, sexless union, lack of commitment, inability to communicate, and lack of shared enjoyment.
i came to believe i was “bad at choosing a man” and hoped that someday i would meet someone who would “just love me enough,” which i thought would be the big fix i was looking for.
i entered my relationship with my second husband which so much thoughtfulness and really clear, beautiful intentions. still we found ourselves in the throes of such utter struggle and conflict that at times we thought our only option was to end things.
now here i am, seven years in, many, many hours of study, contemplation, practice, support, trial and error later - and i can say with total honesty and clarity that this relationship is deeper, more authentic, loving and resilient than anything i have ever been in.
is it perfect? hell, no. but, have i learned how to navigate the highs and lows, tend the fire before it burns us down, and use the soyala together methods to fall back into love, enjoyment, and pleasure together again and again? hell, yes.
the typical bio stuff
robin is the founder of soyala, a place to learn spiritual practices that work in real life. soyala has been thriving since 2013. robin is married to her second husband, david hackett, and together they have six children in their vibrant, chaotic, dynamic blended family.
robin is an excellent soccer mom and dance mom (not that kind), inspired home chef, and crazy lake mermaid. in her free time (what is that?) you might find her collaging with stickers, reading a fiction novel, or binge-watching love on the spectrum, or dying for sex.
robin has a BA from hampshire college and an MA in counseling psychology from lesley university.
she has been working with clients 1:1, leading group programs, and facilitating retreats for twenty years.
she has also studied and/or been certified in:
• tibetan buddhism
• internal family systems
• somatic meditation
• yoga
• death doulaing
• flower essences
• homeopathy
• ancestral clearing
• hands on & long distance energy work
• mediumship & telepathy
• interspecies telepathic communication
• pleasure practice & tantric orgasm
“Robin’s insight, compassion and reality based grit in couples work was a potent and refreshing vibe from other programs and facilitators out there.
My partner, who is a man, felt excited and curious to continue into our joint sessions together relieved that we were all on the same team together. We learned practical ways of working with our parts and each other even after our very first session with her.
We feel supported by Robin to come into a deeper understanding about what is actually happening between us without either of us being marked as the enemy. We are both so excited and grateful that we have the opportunity to do this together with Robin.
This is the most profound work I’ve ever been involved in and it’s the only thing that has changed my life so drastically. I am so thankful to Robin for being such a compassionate and clear space holder and wisdom carrier”
